Saturday Free Family Workshops - Sasha Barrett

October 28

Start Time: 11:00 AM
End Time: 12:30 PM

Join ceramic artist Sasha Barrett in a workshop focused on the exhibition Make it Funky: Bay Area Influence on Missoula Ceramics, on view through December 16, 2023. Barrett will lead participants through the exhibition, then guide in creating ceramic pieces that break the boundaries of functional pottery, inspired by the 1970s Funk movement.

Barrett is a Ukrainian artist living in Missoula, where he's earning his MFA at the University of Montana. His current body of work consists of large wall tiles, vessels, and sculptural representations of war hardware, the humanitarian crises, and his personal relationship to friends and family living in his native country. Barrett has shown in national galleries and received the 2019 Ceramics Monthly Emerging Artist award.

Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure a spot. Children under age 7 should be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided—just bring an open mind.
