Tours

FREE "Meet the MAM" overview tour every Saturday at 11 AM led by MAM staff.

NOTE: No "Meet the MAM" tour on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023.

MAM offers opportunities to discover the cultural connections, diverse meanings, feelings, and associations that happen during looking closely at an original work of art. In addition to free Saturday tours, MAM offers free guided tours of its galleries to school groups, community organizations, and the general public, when requested in advance.

Of course, your group is also welcome to tour the museum on your own and in each exhibition you'll find materials to inform your experience; these include printed quides, engage-by-cell QR codes that link to brief artist statements, and the interpretive wall text. If schedules allow, a Visitor Engagement/Security Officer may be available to support your group.

To schedule a tour, especially if your group will include more than 15 individuals, please email Janaína Vieira-Marques, educator and outreach coordinator. We are a small staff, and ample notice allows us to provide support.

Schools and Group Tours

Hour-long tours are led by trained docents or MAM staff. Group tours are limited to about 30 participants (three groups of 10). Teachers are encouraged to preview the exhibitions before bringing their classes. Pre-visit materials and information will be sent upon request. Two weeks' notice is requested for scheduling a tour. Please email Janaína Vieira-Marques, or call the museum at 406-728-0447.

Please note: MAM strives to accommodate all your requests, but due to the high volume we sometimes don’t have enough staff and volunteer capacity to do so.

MAM is ADA accessible and has a wheelchair for public use.
