Explore Self Identity Through Art

Ages 10-12 


Students will make an array of art inspired by exhibitions on display at MAM. They will be provoked to see and understand the world around them with their creative lenses by exploring art techniques such as sketching, coloring, word illustration, composition. At the end of the week, they will reflect on their learning by creating an original self-portrait using the skills and concepts that were explored during their time together.

Bio:

Born and raised in the border town of Douglas, AZ, Ramirez discovered her enthusiasm for clay at Cochise College. She earned a BFA with an emphasis in ceramics from Western New Mexico University in 2017. After a 2-year artist-in-residence program at WNMU, she moved to Montana. During her time in Missoula, she was part of the post-baccalaureate program at the University of Montana, co-founded and was a resident artist at Wildfire Ceramic Studio, and had made work in a private space called Speakeasy Clay Studio. Ramirez currently is working in her second year as an artist in residence at the Clay studio of Missoula.
