Summer Camp Week 6: Pop! Art! Fun!

Ages 8 to 12

Do you like comic books? Pop culture? How about dots? Join teaching artist, Jennifer Ogden, for a week of silkscreen, zines, and papier maché all in the spirit of Pop Art! Notice popular images and popular culture of our time while touring MAM’s galleries and more! Pop Artist, Andy Warhol states, “The Pop artists did images that anybody could recognize in a split second – comics, picnic tables, men’s trousers, celebrities, shower curtains, refrigerators, Coke bottles.” Pop art was an art movement from the 1960’s and 70’s, based on modern popular culture, consumerism, and mass media. Join in the fun!

Jennifer Ogden is a working artist and longtime contributor as a teaching artist at MAM. She has been teaching K-12 art at Victor Public School in the Bitterroot Valley since 1995 and previously taught for the Missoula Family YMCA, Evergreen Kids Corner Summer Explore program, and the Bemis School of Art. Ogden is also a teaching artist for SPARK! Arts Ignite Learning for Missoula County Public Schools. She is enrolled in the Creative Pulse Integrated Arts Master’s program for educators at University of Montana.
