Debra Magpie Earling Book Release Party!
May 19
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
In 2005, MAM collaborated with Indigenous artists to respond to the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Commemoration with a limited edition print project and traveling exhibition: Native Perspectives on the Trail: A Contemporary American Indian Art Portfolio. Corwin Clairmont (Salish−Kootenai) curated the project and fifteen artists were commissioned to make prints and Earling was invited to respond to the images. She wrote a powerful original work of poetry that she has since developed into a long work of prose. Thus sprung the novel, The Lost Journals of Sacajewea. Brava, Debra!!
