First Friday: Brian Maguire, Outrage: Missing And Murdered Indigenous People In Montana
June 6
5:00 - 8:00 PM
The Missoula Art Museum (MAM) is honored to present Outrage: Missing and Murdered Indigenous People in Montana, a powerful new exhibition by internationally acclaimed Irish artist Brian Maguire. Known for his raw and resolute portraits that confront social injustice, Maguire brings global attention to the MMIP crisis through deeply collaborative work with Indigenous families and advocates across Montana.
Through years of listening, learning, and painting, Maguire creates intimate portraits of missing and murdered Indigenous individuals, gifting one painting to each family and displaying its twin to the public to amplify awareness. Outrage is a tribute to lives lost, a call for justice, and a platform for community voices demanding change.
Opening Reception: Friday, June 6, 5–8 PM
Join us during Missoula’s First Friday Art Walk to view the exhibition and honor families who have traveled to share in this moment. Remarks by the artist and a welcome to participating families will take place at 6 PM.
