Late Thursdays: Artist Talk With Dana Boussard

April 17

5:00 - 7:00 PM

Join the Missoula Art Museum (MAM) for an engaging artist talk by Dana Boussard, one of the featured artists in the "Women's Work" exhibition. In celebration of MAM's 50th anniversary, we reflect on the pioneering women who helped shape the museum. In 1973, Boussard, along with Lela Autio and Nancy Erickson, faced rejection from the University of Montana for their proposed exhibition of soft sculptures, dismissed as "women's work." Undeterred, they organized their exhibition independently at the Carnegie Library in 1974—a bold move that contributed to the founding of MAM in 1975.

Come hear Dana speak about her work and share insights into what it was like to be part of the art scene in Missoula in the 1970s. This event honors their pioneering efforts and lasting impact on contemporary art. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with the history and legacy of MAM!

Artist Talk begins at 5:30 PM
