Late Thursdays: Artist Talk With Dana Boussard

April 17

5:00 - 7:00 PM

MAM’s new Late Thursdays series continues with an artist talk by Dana Boussard, one of the featured artists in Women’s Work. In 1973, Boussard, Lela Autio, and Nancy Erickson proposed an exhibition of their soft sculptures at the University of Montana but were denied due to the perception of fiber arts as mere “women’s work.” In response, they held their exhibition independently in the Carnegie Library in 1974, leading to the founding of the Missoula Art Museum in 1975. Join us as we celebrate these trailblazing artists and their impact on contemporary art.
