Ohkomi Forensics Presentation

September 11

5:00 pm - 7:00 PM

Join us for a powerful evening of advocacy and education as we welcome Ohkomi Forensics to present in support of our current exhibition "Outrage: Missing and Murdered Indigenous People in Montana" by Brian Maguire. Ohkomi Forensics will present their groundbreaking work addressing the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples crisis, demonstrating how they combine cutting-edge forensic science—including field excavation, laboratory analysis, and DNA identification—with culturally-informed advocacy to bridge the gap between grieving families and the forensic evidence needed for justice. The presentation will illuminate the stark realities of the MMIP epidemic and the systemic failures that have allowed countless Indigenous people to disappear without adequate investigation, while showcasing Ohkomi's Indigenous-led methodology that transforms traditional forensic practices with deep cultural sensitivity. This powerful presentation provides context for understanding Brian Maguire's "Outrage" exhibition, offering attendees a rare opportunity to learn directly from experts working on the front lines of this human rights crisis.

Please note: This presentation will address sensitive topics related to violence against Indigenous people. Content may not be suitable for all audiences.
