Join exhibiting artist Willem Volkersz and panelists Bonnie Laing-Malcolmson and Brandon Reintjes for a discussion of Volkersz's work. Come early for Coffee with the Artist with complimentary coffee and pastries. Willem Volkersz: The View From Here: A 25-Year Retrospective is open through June 24. The Montana-based artist was a pioneer in the use of neon in art and is known for his installations featuring neon, found objects, and massive paint-by-number-style paintings. Volkersz came to the United States from Holland in 1953, after the devastation of World War II. As a teenager, he began hitchhiking and driving throughout the American West, camera in hand. He has often said that he has an "immigrant’s fascination with America."
