BT Livermore: Oh, The Wait Of It All

BT Livermore (they/them) is a multi-focus artist from Butte, MT, who has always been creating, something—anything—since childhood. They love to repurpose stuff: prints, paintings, wood, and other functional pieces, and home goods. Most of what Livermore makes focuses on vintage style, typography, found objects, and a humorous message. Livermore's professional skillset includes traditional hand painted lettering and gold leaf work for custom signs, illustration, logo design, as well as screen and letterpress printing. BT also dabbles in woodworking, furniture construction, and restoration. In 2022, Livermore was an OpenAir resident artist at Home Resource and had a solo exhibition at the Arts Chateau in Butte. The exhibition explores the journey one takes to realize various and intersecting, personal identities and truths. In particular, the pathways taken for BT to come out later in life as agender and asexual, and how those interact with other identities such as parent, partner, and artist.
