A New Chapter For MAM: Sustainable, Visitor-Friendly Entrance Underway

Building a Better MAM: A New Entrance for Comfort and Conservation

The Missoula Art Museum (MAM) has officially broken ground on a redesigned entrance that will enhance visitor comfort, improve energy efficiency, and better protect the artwork we care for. Construction began on September 15 and is expected to continue through the end of the year.

This project replaces MAM’s aging and drafty entrance doors, which have made it difficult to maintain stable indoor temperatures—creating challenges for both visitor experience and art conservation. The new vestibule is part of MAM’s broader commitment to sustainability, building on recent energy-saving upgrades like LED lighting, HVAC improvements, and insulation enhancements. It also supports our adoption of the international BIZOT Green Protocols for environmentally responsible museum practices.

WE ARE STILL OPEN!

We want to assure you that MAM remains open during construction:

HOURS: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM

OPEN LATE EVERY THIRD THURSDAY UNTIL 7 PM. and extended hours every third Thursday until 7 PM

CLOSED SUNDAY & MONDAY

Please use the north entrance located down the stairs from the Art Park. ADA access is available at the main entrance.

Thank you for your patience as we build a more welcoming and sustainable museum experience for all. For updates and visiting info, please check missoulaartmuseum.org
